Broward County Public Schools (Office of Prevention Programs) Safe Schools Healthy Students SS/HS Initiative – Ft. Lauderdale, FL:  The Office of Prevention Programs implements evidence and science based programs and services as a department within Broward County Schools.  The SS/HS Initiative draws on the best practices of education, justice, social services, and mental health systems to provide integrated and comprehensive resources for prevention programs and prosocial services for youth. BCPS and their partners proposed an integrated, comprehensive, community wide, and community-specific plan to address the problems of school violence and alcohol and other drug abuse.

Broward County Public Schools (Office of Prevention Programs) Good Behavior Game – Ft. Lauderdale, FL: The purpose of the Good Behavior Game program was to prevent aggressive and disruptive behavior among young children in the short term and prevent antisocial behavior and the use of illicit drugs in the longer term.  The Office of Prevention Programs implemented an evidence-based practice in schools, specifically the Good Behavior Game, which is a behavioral classroom management strategy that involves helping children learn how to work together.  The approach of this practice facilitates a positive learning environment and has been shown to decrease disruptive behavior in the classroom. 

Tallahassee Community College (TCC) Wakulla County 21st Century Community Learning Center – Tallahassee, FL: TCC is a nationally ranked community college that takes pride in collaborating with other local colleges and community members to provide services to at-risk students, allowing them to progress towards a college education. The 21st CCLC programs establish programs that provide at-risk students opportunities for academic enrichment, personal enrichment, and complement students’ standard academic programs.

South Florida Afterschool All-Stars (SFASAS) 21st Century Community Learning Center – Miami, FL :  SFASAS is a non-profit agency and Miami chapter of the leading national organization that provides year-round, school-based, comprehensive after-school programs that include academics, enrichment activities and health & fitness to middle-school aged students.  SFASAS offers multi-faceted, year-round programs that keep students safe and help them achieve in school and in life.  SFASAS has been the proud recipient of several 21st CCLC awards.

The Portrait of Empowerment (TPOE) 21st Century Community Learning Center – Opa-locka, FL :  TPOE is a non-profit agency dedicated to enabling individuals to become self-sufficient; with a holistic approach focusing on the healthy development of youth, family and community. TPOE works hard to partner with local, state, and national foundations to sustain resources for the community.

Broward County Public Schools through their Safe Schools Healthy Students SS/HS Initiative have helped over 258,000 students with the services they have provided!

We also have the opportunity to work with several school districts such as Bay County Schools, Gulf County Schools, and Gadsden County Schools on their 21st CCLC projects. These hardworking individuals take the extended day to a new level and we are privileged to collaborate with them to create quality programs for students in their districts!

Family Worship and Praise Center Child Development Center is a faith based agency dedicated to creating a safe environment for all children in their community. FWPC-CDC is an effort spearheaded by local certified teachers in the community. As community organizers, they work hard to locate private, local, state, and federal funds to serve the needs of their children. We are proud to work with them!
